Introverts are some of the most mysterious and intriguing creatures in the world. But there are some funny habits that introverts do, and they can be difficult to understand if you’re an extrovert.

Some people even believe that introverts have multiple layers of personality that extroverts cannot even assume. I consider myself to be an extroverted introvert, so I can more easily understand both sides.

If you are asked to define an introvert; you would probably say a quiet and reserved person; but in reality, this is not an end to the definition. These unique minds do many funny things that extroverts cannot even understand.

#1.  When they’re at a party, they can’t wait to go home and be alone

The thought of reading alone in a closed room can seem more appealing to an introvert than being surrounded by drunk people talking shit at a party.

#2. Introverts are more likely to avoid situations where they may be forced to indulge in a lot of talking

It may be having a haircut at the salon where the service provider is really talking actively or being in a situation where they have to entertain guests for a long period.

Introverts don’t need to talk often and would run away from the narcissistic loudmouth who loves to talk about themselves.

#3. An introvert can live in their own bubble for a long time

If an introvert can get away with being by themselves for a long period of time, they will! They love being in their own comfort zone.

Some of the most loved and favorite activities of an introvert’s life are hanging out with their laptop, music, books, animals, or out in nature.

#4. When an introvert is not in the mood to hang out with other humans, they usually give an excuse

It can take a lot for the introvert to choose social events over a cozy night in. In the event they don’t want to face other humans, they will give any excuse, like: “I’m sick” or “I’m busy”.

Of course, they will feel bad about lying, but it could be better to make an excuse, rather than saying… “I’m socially awkward right now, and I want to stay home with my cat and do nothing.”

When they are not comfortable with a group of strangers, they can bypass hour-long conversations without saying a single word, by quietly making their way to the nearest exit.

The phone ringing sound can very well trigger World War 3 for the introvert. They will un-likey answer if they don’t know the number calling, or if they simply don’t want to talk to anybody.

However, receiving texts and social media messages are completely acceptable to the average introvert.

So you want to throw a surprise party for your introverted friend? Hmmm, think again.

Introverts like to be in control and don’t like their plans being changed abruptly without having a chance to mentally or physically prepare.

When an introvert doesn’t want to interact with the general public, an easy solution is to wear their earphones. (even if they aren’t listening to music!)
